New Scarred Lands titles
almost 4 years ago – Fri, May 01, 2020 at 04:56:50 PM

Hello!

I hope you are keeping safe and well.

Hopefully you got a notification alittle while ago about this from Drivethru, but I know not everyone gets those: if you haven't already, please go check your Drivethru account - you'll find the final version of the Creature Collection PDF is updated and waiting for you. I was hoping to be able to bring you a print date when I spoke about this final PDF - We're still waiting for one last piece of information: everything is done and we're just waiting on one final decision before we can hand over print files, and roll those presses. The good news though, is that our printer is currently operational.

In the mean time, I just heard about all these releases for Scarred Lands, and thought I'd pass them along. Something to get your teeth into and keep boredom at bay.

There's the 2nd Vigil Watch section PDF, a new VTT SL art pack, and two adventures that include VTT materials, all for Scarred Lands. Here's the links:

Digital Pack About to Go!
about 4 years ago – Wed, Apr 08, 2020 at 12:56:21 AM

Hello!

If you're a backer who pledged for the Digital Pack, get ready! It's about to go out via Backerkit.

You should get an email advising you that you have a new digital reward, but if you don't, have no fear: You can simply log into your backerkit account and find it waiting for you.

The Digital Pack contains:

  • Poster PDFs of the battle maps included in the book
  • Bonus Poster battlemaps unlocked as part of the social campaign
  • VTT versions of all battle maps
  • VTT tokens for all the monsters in the Collection
  • A PDF of "creature cards" to show your players when they encounter the creatures from the collection
  • "no background" PNG files of all the monster art

And we hope you thoroughly enjoy it!

We're making the final preparations for print right now - there are a couple of options we're locking down - nothing desperately exciting. And then unfortunately we will be at the mercy of the Corona virus. I don't want to talk too much about this - we are all aware of the current situation and its uncertainties. As soon as we can get presses rolling we will do so, and we'll let you know when it happens!

Before then though, and on a happier note, we'll have another PDF for you, which contains all the amends we were sent, and fills in those gaps for backer-commissioned monsters!

Thanks once again for all your support! Enjoy your Digital Pack.

March Update
about 4 years ago – Thu, Mar 19, 2020 at 11:45:27 PM

Hello!

I have a rather pleasingly boring update for you today, in this time of rather more alarming news.

So! The digital pack is 99% done. I need to move some files around, run it across Rich and Travis' desks, and then it'll be good to go. So that's good news. The only thing which will come along later is the 'making of' art video. That'll take a bit longer to make, but I figure as a pure bonus reward it's fine to bring you that a bit later.

Thank you for all your feedback - we're incorporating that right now, and so we're a day or two away from a new PDF file.

Thank you also to our monster commissioners that got in touch. Those monsters are all done bar one: one person still isn't picking up the internet phone, and so sadly their monster will not be in the book. But we'll replace it with something else suitably awesome.

And that's it for now! Stay tuned, I'll have a new final file for you within the next week or so, provided our immune systems continue the good fight. And then we'll lock off the files and send them to OPP for printing.

I hope you're all keeping well, and not suffering too much in these trying times.

Thanks as ever for your support!

Backer PDF is ready! Last call out for Commission a Monster!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Mar 01, 2020 at 12:22:14 AM

Hello!

We're delighted to be bringing you the Creature Collection in PDF! Emails will start heading out to you in the next few hours, with a coupon code allowing you to download the Backer edition PDF from DrivethruRPG!

Be warned!

these can take up to 48 hours to filter through the system when there's so many to send. And the system is not always flawless. But rest assured it is on its way to you.

• The email will go the email address connected to your backerkit account.

• Be sure to keep an eye on your spam folder - this kind of mass send out can easily be flagged as spam.

If you don't have a drivethrurpg account, you will need to make one once you get the email, but it's very quick and painless

• If after 48 hours you can't see an email, you'll be able to log into your Backerkit account and see your digital rewards there. And please, don't panic if you don't get a coupon. We will do our very best to help you.

Some notes on why it's called the "Backer Edition":

1: We're still waiting 3 'Commission a Monster' Backers to get in touch with their monster idea. You'll see three pages have misted-out creatures. We've sent a couple of reminders via email and mentioned it a couple of times here, but at this point we're setting the hard deadline of March 15 for those surveys to be returned. Please email [email protected] if you are a Commision a Monster backer and you need anything more from us. I'm more than happy to send you the mini-survey again.

If we don't get a response from you by the 15th of March (this year), then we will assume that you don't want to commission a monster. We will replace that page with something of our own choosing.

The good news for everyone else is we have a bunch of spare monsters, so there will be no delay caused.

2: We're hoping you'll help us spot any remaining typos or errors we haven't managed to crush, and then we'll supply you with a new 'commercial release' version. We've been proofing for a couple of weeks, but  it's time to let fresh eyes take a look. We'll allow two weeks for you to send us any errata that you notice, and we'll get it slotted in before going to print. The deadline for errata spotting is again the 15th of March.

If you do spot any mistakes please head to this page, and fill in your spottings:

Thank you in advance with your help with this. We're really keen to make the print edition as close to flawless as humanly possible!

Thanks once again for all your support. And I hope you enjoy those monsters! We've had a great time creating them for you.

In other news, we're full steam ahead on the digital pack rewards, and they won't be too far away.

Keep an eye out for your download coupon! Thanks!

Commission a Monster Tier: We want your monsters!
about 4 years ago – Wed, Feb 19, 2020 at 08:05:32 AM

If you're a commission a monster backer, it's time to send in your monsters! The mini-survey for this tier was sent out to the email address connected to your KS account a few weeks ago, and three out of seven of you have responded. Four to come!

I'll send an additional reminder via PM to those of you who are yet to turn in your ideas, but it seems worthwhile marking the place here too!

(If you stumble across this as a backer of any other tier, here's a quick update - the last monsters are now in approval, OPP are super good at that, so we're into the very last stages of compiling the book. Yay!!)

Thanks!

Jon
